Who is Bruce Fummey?

Bruce Fummey’s life to date has all been preparation to take you on a fantastic historical tour of Scotland. Bruce started out as a school teacher, before a career in finance, which he gave up to become a stand-up comedian and entertainer. As such he has a unique ability to present you with knowledge and information about Scotland’s history in an engaging and enjoyable manner that other tour guides won’t.

Since 2006 Bruce has built a reputation for performing well researched and hugely entertaining comedy shows about Scottish history at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His shows have included About Tam O’Shanter, About the Jacobites, About the Scots, About Robert the Bruce, Alba: Scotland the Origins, Gaelic in the Afternoon, Ahm Votin YES/NO, A History of Scotland and Macbeth Without the Shakespeare Bo***cks.

Award Winning Tour Guide

He has been twice nominated for Scottish Comedy Awards and nominated three times for Fringeworld Comedy Awards in Western Australia. Bruce was named Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2014. He has performed for ambassadors in Rome, Amman and Abu Dhabi, for Scottish societies in Singapore, Indonesia, Bangkok and Dubai, for the European Parliament Burns supper and more.

What to Expect

Your trip will not be a stand-up comedy show, nor will it be a classroom history lesson, but Bruce will bring to life the places you visit and the history you see in a way that no other tour guide will.
